The feature of sending “request for money” requests on UPI apps will also be discontinued from today. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) recently directed banks and payment companies to discontinue the “UPI P2P Collect Request” feature from October 1. UPI Collect Request was a feature through which any user could request money from another person.
This feature was specifically introduced for situations like asking friends or family for money owed or sharing small expenses. Currently, a user could withdraw up to a maximum of ₹2,000 per transaction.
