The use of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is no longer limited to India. Payments using UPI have been implemented in many countries around the world. Qatar is the latest addition to this list.
NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Qatar National Bank (QNB) have jointly launched this feature in Qatar. This means that payments can now be made using UPI in Qatar.

The introduction of UPI payments will significantly ease the situation for Indians traveling to Qatar . A large number of Indians travel to Qatar every year. They will no longer need to convert rupees into local currency. To date, UPI payments have been implemented in eight countries worldwide.
