UP Weather Alert: IMD Issues Red Alert, Heavy Rain Likely in These Districts in Next 3 Hours

The weather is changing again in Uttar Pradesh. A warning has been issued for strong winds, heavy rain with thunder and lightning in many districts of the state in the next three hours. Along with this, there are chances of moderate rain with strong winds and lightning in many districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a red and yellow alert for rain.

The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder, lightning, sudden strong wind (30-40 KMPH) in Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Jalaun, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Auraiya, Kannauj. A red alert has been issued for all these districts.

Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate rain, thunder, lightning and sudden strong wind (30-40 KMPH) in Pratapgarh, Banda, Kaushambi, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Jalaun, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur Nagar, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Hathras, Mathura, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, Basti, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Auraiya, Lucknow, Barabanki, Kannauj, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Aligarh, Saharanpur.

There was rain with strong winds in Lucknow on Wednesday

On Wednesday, many parts of the capital Lucknow witnessed rain for five to ten minutes with strong winds. However, the intensity of rain was high in the outer parts of the city including Trans-Gomti. Many areas including the airport and Sarojini Nagar witnessed light showers. 1.4 mm rainfall was recorded at the airport. The reason for this was the main stream of monsoon coming closer to UP.
