These new rules have been made:-

  •  Now, women can also work at night. However, written consent from the female employee is required. Women will now be able to work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., meaning their night shift will be considered after 7 p.m. Previously, the night shift was considered after 9 p.m.
  • If women are working night shifts, their written consent must be obtained. Furthermore, providing safe transportation, escorting guards, health facilities, and CCTV will be mandatory.
  • According to the new rules, women will be allowed to work six days a week. Overtime has been increased from 75 hours to 144 hours per quarter. Women will also be paid double overtime.
  • Previously, women could only work in 12 industrial sectors, but this number has now been expanded to 29. This means that women will be able to work in sectors that fall into the hazardous category.
