UP DA Hike : The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a three percent increase in the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners . According to a statement issued by the state government on Thursday (October 16) night , it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance of 28 lakh employees and pensioners of Uttar Pradesh by three percent . Now the dearness allowance will increase from 55 percent to 58 percent . This arrangement will be implemented from July 1, 2025.
According to the statement, this increase in dearness allowance will result in an additional expenditure burden of Rs 1,960 crore on the treasury by March 2026. According to the statement, the Chief Minister has ordered the increased dearness allowance to be paid in cash from this month itself.

In addition to Uttar Pradesh , Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance for state government employees . According to an official release, the dearness allowance has been increased from 55 percent to 58 percent . This rate will be effective from July 1, 2025.
Dearness Relief ( DR ) for pensioners has also been increased by three percent . The release said this decision will benefit approximately 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners in Odisha .
Karnataka
Meanwhile, the Karnataka government on Wednesday issued an order increasing the dearness allowance for its employees from 12.25 percent to 14.25 percent of their basic pay ahead of Diwali . The Finance Department said the increase will also apply to pensioners .
According to the order, the revised dearness allowance will be effective from July 1. This is the second increase in the current financial year. Earlier in May, the government increased the dearness allowance from 10.75 percent to 12.25 percent of the basic pay.
Himachal
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the release of a 3 percent dearness allowance ( DA ) for employees and pensioners . The allowance will be added to October salaries and pensions and will be payable in November.
Sukhu said that the arrears for the period from April to September 2025 will also be deposited into the employees’ bank accounts in October . Separate orders will be issued for the payment of arrears from July 2023 to March 2025.
