UIDAI has recently advised Aadhar card holders to be careful while using Aadhar card on public computer. UIDAI also tweeted and warned that all Aadhaar card holders should avoid downloading e-Aadhaar on public computers like internet cafes or kiosks. But in such a situation, the use of public computers should be avoided.

Can money be withdrawn from the account through Aadhaar?

For the verification of any bank account holder, the bank checks it on several parameters, so it is almost impossible that any money can be withdrawn from your account through Aadhaar card. Just like if someone has only your ATM number, he cannot withdraw money from your account. In the same way, no money can be withdrawn from your account just by knowing your Aadhaar number.

Can your bank account be hacked through Aadhaar?

Your bank account cannot be hacked through Aadhaar, but your information can definitely be misused. Knowing the Aadhaar number to an unknown person can make you a victim of cyber scam.

Significantly, e-Aadhaar is also considered a valid proof of KYC for many services, as it is an electronic copy of Aadhaar. Therefore, if you are using a public computer or cyber cafe to download your e-Aadhaar, never forget to log out, otherwise your personal information can also be misused.
