Kolkata, ANI There has been a ruckus in West Bengal over the teaching of racism in a primer book. Racial example is given in the text book of a primary school in Bardaman district of West Bengal. After this, the parents have strongly objected to this. The pre-primary level book at Burdwan’s Girls’ School describes blacks as male.
The voice raised from America about racism has now reached West Bengal, India. Controversy has begun over the primary school book describing Ugly to black people. In it, a picture has been made for the identification of U in the chapter of Alphabet. In which a black person is shown. It is written with U for [Ugly] i.e. Kurup. This time the parents have strongly objected to this.
After the death of black George Floyd, there is a fierce protest against apartheid in many countries including America. The voice raised from America regarding racism has now reached West Bengal, India. Controversy has begun over the primary school book stating black people as Ugly. A black man’s picture is attached to this word. Parents say that in the children’s Alphabet and Words book, the U letter was interpreted with the word Ugly and a picture of a black human being was placed, which is incorrect.
This dispute of U to Ugly has started from East Burdwan district of West Bengal. English alphabet and words are being taught to children in pre-primary class through this book at a government aided municipal girls high school in Burdwan district. The protesting parents said that my daughter studies in Municipal Girls High School. It is wrong that he is being taught ugly to black humans. This book should be withdrawn. If this does not happen, children will have inferiority complex towards black humans.
In this case the District Inspector of School Primary Education has refused to speak anything. However, he said that giving such education is wrong. It is not a book issued by the government. I will talk to the school and if necessary, the book will be changed. He said that calling blacks ugly is wrong education for children.

On this issue, the District Inspector, who is looking at primary education, said that such education should not be given to children and this is wrong. He said that such a book is not an official book given by the school. He said that even after this, the school principal will be talked about and if needed the book will be changed.
