Uber Flex Service In India: If you frequently take commuting services from app-based cab services company Uber, then there is a good news for you. Soon Uber can gift its users with flexible pricing service. Uber is now testing its flexible pricing service in several Tier 2 and 3 cities in India to expand its user base, allowing passengers to decide their own cab fares.

Testing is going on in these cities of India

Flexible pricing service caller Uber Flex was first tested in India in October last year. According to TechCrunch, this service has now been expanded to cities like Aurangabad, Ajmer, Bareilly, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Gwalior, Indore, Jodhpur and Surat. Uber spokesperson said in a statement that we are currently testing this feature in some Tier 2 and 3 markets of India.

Uber Flex is also being tested in Lebanon, Kenya and Latin America. Unlike Uber’s standard pricing model, Flex allows riders to bid their choice of fare from nine pricing points, with a default price chosen. Riders can choose a fare that will be shared with nearby drivers, who can accept or reject the ride based on the fare offered.

Similarly, drivers have the option to quote their rates to users. They can choose whichever driver’s offer catches their eye and then, the ride is confirmed. InDrive, another ride-hailing app, currently allows riders to input the fare manually. Last February, InDrive raised $150 million, saying it would use the funds to acquire and retain customers and support its continued growth.
