WFH in Twitter: Elon Musk has denied the news of Twitter’s work from home policy being terminated. He has said that there is the same policy for Twitter, which is for the employees of Tesla and SpaceX.

New Delhi. Amidst the news of Twitter’s work from home policy being abolished, Elon Musk himself has called this news wrong. Musk, the new boss of the social networking platform, on Sunday clarified the remote working policy. He said that there is the same policy for Twitter, which is for the employees of Tesla and SpaceX.

Responding to a report tweeted by an un-verified account, Elon Musk misquoted it. In that tweet it was said that “The billionaire businessman has ordered his Ireland employees to return to Dublin by 14 November. Whereas it is not possible for all the employees to do so.

Elon Musk wrote in reply to this tweet, “This is wrong. Whoever can come to the office should come. However, if an employee is unable to move due to personal issues or cannot move to the office, then it is okay to stay at home.” Musk said that Twitter employees will follow the same policy as Tesla and SpaceX. He then added, “It’s okay to work remotely if their manager says they’re doing a great job.”

What was there in the earlier reports?
Last week, some reports claimed that Elon Musk has scrapped Twitter’s work from home policy and ordered its employees to come back to office. He was reported to have told Twitter employees that work from home would not be allowed except under special circumstances. Musk had even said that he himself would investigate the personal matter.

In its report, UK-based news network The Guardian quoted Elon Musk as saying, “Working remotely is not allowed, unless you have a specific reason. The manager will send me a list of exceptions, which I will investigate myself.”

Twitter owner Elon Musk has now fired about 4,400 contract employees
after removing regular employees. A report by Platformer says that Twitter has removed these employees without any prior notice. When employees lost access to their official mail and other online services, they felt left out.
