What was said earlier

Let us tell you that according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Railways on 23 September 2017, the GST charged at the time of booking train tickets is returned to the passengers at the time of cancellation of the ticket. Railways had told that the GST collected at the time of booking is refunded along with the cost of the ticket.

On what is GST charged?

Railways has said that as per the refund rules, the amount of GST on cancellation/clerkage charge and cancellation/clerkage charge for AC and First Class is retained by the Railways. At the same time, GST is charged on this by the Ministry of Finance.
