New Delhi. The government is continuously working to develop road transport in the country. Because of this, new highways and expressways are being built. With the construction of new highways and expressways, toll tax is also increasing. In such a situation, the burden of toll is also increasing day by day on the pockets of the people traveling by road.

But now the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has given great relief to the people. NHAI has announced a reduction in the rate of toll tax. The people of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana will directly benefit from this deduction.

This deduction has been made on the route of Panipat Rohtak National Highway. According to the information issued by NHAI, the toll rate at the plaza located in Dahar village has been reduced. Significantly, the rates of toll plaza were increased on this plaza on 1 April 2022 but now it has been reduced.

How much will be saved

According to the information, earlier on Panipat Rohat National Highway, light motor vehicles like cars, jeeps and vans used to charge Rs 100 for one way and Rs 155 for both sides, after the new rates are implemented, now light motor vehicles will be charged for one way. Rs 60 and Rs 90 on both sides will be charged. With this, there will be a saving of Rs 40 on taking a single slip and Rs 65 on taking a double slip.

Along with this, earlier Rs 160 had to be paid on light commercial vehicle and mini bus and Rs 235 on both sides of the slip. Which has now been reduced to Rs 100 on single slip and Rs 150 on double slip. With this, there will be a saving of Rs 60 on one-way journey and Rs 85 on both sides.

On the other hand, heavy commercial vehicles like bus and truck had to pay Rs 320 for single slip and Rs 480 for double. Which has now been reduced to Rs 205 and Rs 310. This will directly save 85 and 170 rupees.

How toll tax is collected

The National Highways Department provides many facilities and services to the people while traveling on the highway. In the name of all these facilities, a fee is charged along with toll tax. Normally 60 kms. Rs 1.50 to Rs 2 are charged from small vehicles for the journey up to Rs. At the same time, toll tax depends on how many lanes, bridges or underpasses are there on that highway.
