The Madhya Pradesh government has announced to exempt private vehicles, passenger vehicles from toll tax, only last month. On the contrary, this is bad news for private drivers traveling on Neemuch Highway. They will have to bear the burden of more than the amount of toll tax being collected from April 1 till now. The pockets will have to be loosened to pay more toll tax.

Seven percent increase in rates

Essel Infra Company has two toll blocks between Ratlam and Indore and at both the places the company has made preparations to increase the current rate by seven percent tomorrow. That is, if the toll tax is being charged at Rs 100, then instead of that, Rs 107 will have to be paid.

Less on small vehicles, more on older ones

Smaller vehicles such as passenger vehicles, jeeps and cars are increasing by a small amount, but large commercial vehicles are going to have the biggest impact. This amount will be recovered from them by increasing the present amount by seven per cent.

The company also has Tolnaka in Badnawar

Essel Infra Limited has a toll block near Badnawar in addition to Chiklia between Ratlam-Indore. The rates of this toll naka are a bit high at present. It is said that the distance between two toll points is 50 km but its distance is 57 km.
The new rates will be as follows

  • Light Commercial Vehicles -126 – 135
  • Loaded or empty bus – 262 – 280
  • Loaded or Empty Truck – 315 -337
  • Multi Axle Vehicles – 628 – 672

Rate will increase by seven percent

According to the government’s contract, the rates of toll tax are to be increased by seven percent from April 1. These rates will be implemented from 1st April 2022.
