Supreme Court’s Big decision- CBSE 12th compartment, private students can also apply for higher education

New Delhi. CBSE: The Supreme Court, while giving a big decision, has allowed CBSE 12th compartment, private and correspondence students to apply for higher education. The Supreme Court said that such students can also apply for admission to higher education on a provisional basis. However, at the time of admission, students will have to present their results before the respective institutes.

Delivering the verdict on the basis of proposals submitted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Justice A.M. Khanwilkar said that these students can apply for admission on a provisional basis, however the students will have to submit the result once the result is declared by CBSE.


What the court said,

Justice Hrishikesh Roy and CT Ravikumar are also included in the bench giving the verdict. The court said that a student can apply for higher education courses on a provisional basis. Also, after the release of the result by CBSE, it can also give an affidavit to submit the result in the institute within a week.

The petition was filed In fact, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court that the results of CBSE 12th private, correspondence and compartment students may be delayed, in which case students may be deprived of admission in higher education. The counsel for the petitioner said that the results of about one lakh such students of CBSE 12th have not been released.
