Schools to Remain Closed from October 20–29, 2025: Government Announces Upcoming Holidays

School Holiday: The Diwali festival is over. Now, people in many states are busy preparing for Chhath Puja. Chhath Puja is especially celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bihar. Apart from Bihar, people in other states are also enthusiastic about this festival.

Schools are closed during this time. So, let’s find out how many days of holiday will be observed in each state for Chhath.

Chhath Puja School Holiday In Bihar:

The Bihar government’s Education Department has announced school holidays. Schools will be closed from October 20th to October 29th, 2025. During this period, people will be celebrating Diwali and Chhath Puja. However, people have already enjoyed Diwali. Schools will reopen on October 30th, 2025.

Chhath Puja School Holiday In UP: 

Schools in Uttar Pradesh had Diwali holidays from October 20th to 23rd, 2025. These holidays apply to all government and private schools. A holiday is expected from October 25th to 28th for Chhath Puja, but no official notification has been issued yet.

Chhath Puja School Holiday In Rajasthan: 

Schools in Rajasthan will be closed for Diwali from October 13th to October 25th, 2025, meaning they will be closed for a total of 12 days. This order applies to all government and private schools in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Kota divisions. A holiday for Chhath Puja has not yet been announced.

Chhath Puja School Holiday In West Bengal: 

The Chief Minister of Bengal had said a few days ago that in honour of the Hindi speaking community, the state government has announced a two-day government holiday on the occasion of Chhath Puja.

When will Chhath Puja start in 2025?

This year, Chhath Puja will begin on October 25th and continue until October 28th. Nahay-Khay will be celebrated on October 25th, Kharna on October 26th, Sankhya Arghya on October 27th, and Usha Arghya on October 28th. Diwali and Chhath Puja provide school children with several days off, allowing them to celebrate the festival with their families. This festival is a time for worship of the Sun God and family gatherings.
