Schools Holiday: Schools have been announced to remain closed in several districts of Uttar Pradesh due to the Kartik Purnima Ganga Bathing Fair, a holy festival of faith. The decision has been taken mainly keeping in mind the safety of students, traffic management and large crowd in schools located on the banks of river Ganga in Bulandshahr and Hapur districts. Every year lakhs of devotees gather at these ghats to take a dip in the Ganga. The local administration is making elaborate arrangements for safety and convenience.
The district administration has issued an order for school holidays. Accordingly, the duration of the holidays will be different in Bulandshahr and Hapur. There will be holidays in schools in Anupshahr area of Bulandshahr. This decision is based on the impact of the fair and the expected crowd in the respective areas. Schools from class I to XII will remain closed in all boards. This will ensure the safety of students and maintain smooth traffic flow.
Bulandshahr: School closed in Anupshahr
A four-day school holiday has been declared in Anupshahr area due to the ‘Lakhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Bathing Mela’. The holidays will last from November 4 to November 6, 2025. Ganga Mela is a large-scale event in Anupshahr, also known as ‘Lakhi Mela’. It sees a huge crowd of lakhs of devotees, causing heavy congestion and traffic disruptions in the entire area. This order was issued by the Primary Education Officer, Bulandshahr, and is applicable to all government and private schools in Anupshahr city.
The Hapur district administration has also announced a holiday in schools in view of the Ganga Mela, the main focus of which is the Garhmukteshwar area. Schools from class I to XII of all boards in Hapur will remain closed. Basic Education Officer (BSA) Ritu Tomar said that this decision has been taken on the orders of the District Magistrate. This decision has been taken mainly for the safety of children and to avoid heavy traffic on the roads during the fair. The fair is expected to be very crowded for the next three days.
