More than three lakh people are affected due to floods in Punjab. In view of this severe flood, the Punjab government has decided to keep the schools closed till September 7.
The Punjab government has decided to keep all schools and colleges closed for a few more days. Earlier they were to open on September 4, but now the date has been changed due to heavy rains and floods. According to the new order, schools will remain closed till Sunday, September 7. If the flood situation improves, classes will resume from September 8. On the other hand, if the flood situation does not improve even by September 8, then the holidays of schools and colleges can be extended further.

Let us tell you that the holidays of schools and colleges in Punjab were announced by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. He posted on X , “As per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, in view of the flood situation, all government and private schools, colleges, universities and polytechnics across Punjab will remain closed till 7 September 2025. Everyone is requested to strictly follow the guidelines of the local administration.”
More than three lakh people affected by the flood
Punjab is currently facing severe floods. Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers, as well as smaller seasonal rivers, are in spate. Rains in Punjab have made the situation worse. So far, 30 people have died due to the floods and more than 3.5 lakh people have been affected across the state.
