Many types of beneficial schemes are being run by the central and state government for the farmers. Now in this sequence, the Karnataka government is going to implement a new scholarship scheme for the education of the children of farmers, which has been announced recently. A budget of Rs 1000 crore has been kept for this.


According to media reports, the Karnataka government has announced that a scholarship scheme for the children of farmers will be implemented from the current financial year. Basavaraj Bommai has started this new initiative to support higher education of farmers’ children. With this, the sons and daughters of the farmer family of the state will not face any financial problem in getting higher education and lakhs of farmer families of the state will get its benefit.

how much budget for the plan

Basavaraj Bommai, in his first cabinet meeting after taking over as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, has set aside Rs 1,000 crore for this. The purpose of providing scholarships to the students of rural community from the government is to help them get good education.

Which youth will get the benefit of the scheme

The annual scholarship amount will be immediately credited to the bank accounts of the youth who have completed their 10th class and are studying courses in any recognized educational institution or university.

Who will get how much scholarship

  • As per the government order, boys enrolled in PUC or ITI courses will get Rs 2,500, while girls will get Rs 3,000. 
  • Boys seeking admission in BA, BSc, BCom, MBBS, BE and other professional courses will get Rs 5,000, while girls will get Rs 5,500.
  • Apart from this, boys pursuing law, paramedical science, nursing and other vocational studies will get Rs 7,500, while girls will get Rs 8,000.
  • According to the ruling state government, the scholarships for men and women pursuing post-graduation will be Rs 10,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. 

They will not get the benefit of the scheme

Farmers whose children have already received merit scholarship from other sources will not be eligible or eligible for the state government scheme. The scholarship will be awarded to students who are enrolled in a specific course.
If they receive a scholarship for a PG course in a specific subject, they will not be eligible for it again if they enroll in another PG course for which they had received the scholarship

Here in Himachal Pradesh top-100 scheme will be started for meritorious students

The government of Himachal Pradesh will start TOP-100 scheme for the meritorious students of the state. Under this, 100 talented students will be selected by SCERT after class 5th from all government schools. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had announced this in the budget for the financial year 2021-22. 


Under this scheme, this scholarship will be provided to the children on the basis of regular evaluation. The state government had launched the Swarna Jayanti Super-100 scheme last year. This plan has been extended. Let us inform that after the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 of the government, it has become mandatory for the students of class 3, 5 and 8 to take the school examination in the state. If you want to apply in Himachal Pradesh Top 100 Scholarship Scheme, then you will have to wait a bit now because at present no guidelines have been issued by the state government regarding this scheme.
