SBI KYC Fake SMS Alert: Fake SMS is not coming to you even if you check the KYC status of your bank account like this

SBI KYC Details: Are you also an account holder of SBI and you have also received such a message? If yes, then take special care of the guidelines issued by the bank. SBI KYC Updates: State Bank of India has cautioned its customers against the fake SMS coming for the updation of PAN and KYC details. SBI customers have received such messages, in which they are being purportedly warned by SBI that if they have not updated their PAN number, then their account will be blocked.

PIB had also done a fact check regarding this recently and told that a fake message is being sent in the name of SBI. PIB had also advised that they should never respond to emails or SMS asking them for their personal or banking details. Also, you can report such messages on report.phishing@sbi.co.in .

How to check KYC status

There are two ways-

First, by visiting your bank branch, you can inquire whether the KYC details of your account have been updated or not. And if you had submitted the documents, then what is their status.


Secondly, you should have internet banking. You can check your status by logging on to it.

For this you have to login and go to your profile and go to verify your KYC option. Here you may be asked many questions for verification. Your status will be known after the verification is complete.

If KYC is not done then how to do it
According to SBI, for this you will have to send the necessary documents to the branch of the bank. You can also send these documents by email id or post. You can also submit your documents by visiting the bank branch.

You have to send your proof of address and proof of identity to the branch by email id or post. Note that if you are sending documents online then you have to use registered email id only.
