SBI has asked its customers to be alert with 2 mobile numbers. The bank says that these numbers are being used for phishing. The Assam CID had also alerted the people about these numbers. The bank has asked not to click on any link sent from these numbers.

CID Assam had indicated

that Assam CID was the first to warn about these numbers. CID wrote in a tweet, “SBI customers are getting calls from 2 numbers asking them to click on phishing link to update KYC. All SBI customers are requested not to click on any such suspicious links. Later, the bank also confirmed this tweet and asked its customers not to pick up the phone and not to click on the KYC update link. The bank is asking to be cautious of such links not only on calls but also on SMS, email etc. The bank has said that do not reply to any such link in which personal things like PIN, CVV, or OTP have been asked from you. SBI has said that the bank never asks for this information from you. The bank has asked to report any such phishing incident to report.phising@sbi.co.in.

RBI issued a booklet

The Reserve Bank of India has published an awareness book to avoid such frauds. It has been told how thugs and scammers carry out their work and how they can be avoided. RBI has given suggestions to avoid such frauds in which suspects have been asked not to believe or click on links sent on SMS and emails.
