The court has asked the government to check whether dealers have sold these vehicles beyond the extended time period for the sale of BS-IV vehicles.

The Supreme Court has said that registration of BS-IV vehicles sold after March 31, 2020 should not be done. The court has asked the government to check whether the dealers have allowed BS-4 vehicles due to Kovid-19. Sales of these vehicles have gone beyond the extended time period for sale.

The Supreme Court withdrew its order in which it said that for ten days after the lockdown, automobile companies can sell BS-4 vehicles in other places besides Delhi-NCR. The court said that the automobile dealers violated our instructions and sold BS-4 vehicles after the last week of March and even after 31 March.

Court said do not try to cheat us

A bench of Supreme Court Justice Arun Mishra said that automobile dealers sold BS-4 vehicles even after 31 March. Do not make the court foolproof by cheating. Earlier, the Federation of Auto Dealers Association had claimed in the court that vehicles worth Rs 7,000 crore were still lying unclaimed with the auto dealers. On March 27, the court gave a time limit for selling these vehicles. But due to the lockdown on 25 March, the vehicle dealers did not get time to remove these vehicles. As of 31 March, there were pending registrations of 2,25,000 BS-4 vehicles in the state transport authorities.

The federation claims that these vehicles have been sold before 31 March. The court reprimanded the federation and asked for information about the online sale during the lockdown. The court said that how vehicles were sold at a discount of 30 to 40 percent during this period. What a fraud it is. How did you sell vehicles during lockdown. BS-6 emission standards have come into force in the country from 1 April 2020. The court refused to pursue the deadline in implementing BS-6. Later, the court was allowed to sell ten percent of the inventory of vehicles in a limited time after relaxation in lockdown.
