Revised Pay Scale Arrear: Lakhs of employees will get cash amount in arrears of September salary of revised pay scale. In this regard, a letter has been issued on behalf of the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance to all the Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Registrar General of the High Court including all DCs and SPs.


Lakhs of employees of Himachal Pradesh will get revised pay scale in the arrears of September Salary. According to the notification issued by the government, the payment of the arrears of revised pay scale will be made in cash by making necessary adjustments to the government employees. The arrears will be paid in Group A, B, C and D categories. Dues up to Rs 50,000 will be given in cash to these categories of employees. Dues up to Rs 60,000 will be paid in cash to Class IV Employees.

Also, revised salary arrears cannot be paid to those Government servants who have availed the revised pay by way of an increase of minimum 15 per cent under Instruction No. (PR)-B(7)-1/2021. has been determined. At the same time, the interim relief amount already released to the employees will be adjusted in the interim relief amount. The government has clarified in its orders that in the case of employees falling under the National Pension System, payment of arrears will be subject to deduction of income tax.

Similarly, from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2021, the arrears of state government employees who have worked in various government departments or state government public sector undertakings/boards/corporations etc. will be prepared and distributed by the department. This order will also be applicable to those government employees whose salary is released under the pay structure of UGC. These include hundreds of teachers from universities and colleges.

Pensioners will get this benefit

As per the orders issued by the government, employees who retire/died on or after January 1, 2016 will be paid 20 per cent of each element of pension and family pension arrears in the month of September 2022. The upper limit for this has been fixed at Rs 50,000. Along with this, 20 percent gratuity will also be paid to the employees who have retired/died on or after January 1, 2016. At the same time, 20 percent arrears will also be paid to pre-2016 pensioners / family pensioners. Pension/family pension earned as on 1st January 2016 due to revision in pension/family pension. This arrear will be payable from January 1, 2016 to January 31, 2022 with a ceiling of 50,000 and necessary adjustments.

Thousands of government employees will be regular on 30 September

At the same time, thousands of employees who have completed two years of service in various departments, corporations and boards of the state government will be regularized on 30 September. On the orders of the Personnel Department, the departmental officers have started the exercise of regularizing the employees who have completed two years of service. District officers have been asked to hand over the list of such employees of all categories to the directorates. The state government regularizes the employees who complete two years of service on 31 March and 30 September every year.
