23.64 crore ration card holders across the country will get the direct benefit of Common Service Center (CSC). For this, the Department of Food and Public Distribution has tied up with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited.


New Delhi. Ration card related services will now also be available in more than 3.7 lakh Common Service Centers (CSCs) across the country. Every problem related to ration card will be resolved immediately at these centers. These services include applying for a new ration card, updation of details and linking it with Aadhaar. This step will directly benefit 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country. The Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has tied up with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a special unit working under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

What services will be provided to ration card holders in CSC, the purpose of this agreement is to simplify the supply of ration in semi – urban and rural areas and strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS). Food and Public Distribution Department and CSCs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ration card services through 3.7 lakh CSCs in the country. With this partnership, 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country will be able to easily update their details by visiting the nearest CSC. At the same time, people will be able to get a duplicate copy of the card, link the card with Aadhaar, get information about the availability of ration and lodge a complaint.


You can also apply for new ration card in CSC Existing ration card holder can apply for new ration card by visiting nearest CSC. Dinesh Tyagi, Managing Director, CSC e-Governance Services India said that after our partnership with the Department of Food and Public Distribution, our Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) operating CSCs will be able to reach out to people who do not have ration cards. . They will help them to get benefits of various government schemes of public distribution system and free ration. Let us inform that from June 1, 2020, the ration card portability service ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ has started in the country. In this scheme, you can buy ration by staying in any state. In other words, you will not have to worry about food items anywhere.
