Ration Card News: Some changes have been made by the Madhya Pradesh government in the rules of ration to the common people under the Public Distribution System.
New Delhi. If you take benefit of ration through Public Distribution System (PDS), then this news is of your use. Actually, some rules have been changed for the ration available under the Public Distribution System. Now consumers will have to put their thumb not once, but twice. However, this change has been made by the Madhya Pradesh government.
It is noteworthy that in Madhya Pradesh, 5 kg ration is given to the beneficiaries by the state government. Apart from this, 5 kg ration is also given to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKAY). Till now, the beneficiaries used to get ration once they put their thumb. Now the thumb will have to be applied twice for the different rations received by the central and state government.
Rules apply in every district of the state
This rule made by the Madhya Pradesh government has been implemented in every district of the state. After this rule, along with the ration shop operators, the beneficiaries will also have to face problems. Because of applying thumb twice, it will take more time to get ration.
PMGKAY: Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana to provide free ration extended for 3 months
Recently, the Central Government on Wednesday extended the period of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana to provide free food grains to the poor by 3 months i.e. till December 2022. It will cost Rs 44,700 crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur had told that in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was decided to extend the scheme by 3 months. He had said that under the scheme, 80 crore poor are given 5 kg wheat and rice every month.
