Rapid Rail: Good news for passengers! Rs 50 fare, 140 km speed and premium coach facility in RapidX, Know route & details here

The country’s first rapid rail is being launched today i.e. on Friday, 21 October 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it. This train is equipped with many modern facilities.


In the first phase, it will run for 17 kilometers between Sahibabad and Duhai depot. During this period there will be a total of 5 stations Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot. Apart from six coaches, RapidX will also have one premium coach.

There will be separate coaches for women. Besides, seats have also been kept for disabled people and senior citizens. The premium coach has additional features like magazine holder, coat hook, footrest and reclining chair.

It will also be easy for patients to travel through RRTS Delhi-Meerut corridor. This is because all trains will include a general coach large enough to fit a wheelchair and a medical stretcher. The station will have CCTV cameras, lift facilities and additional buttons to open the doors.

According to some media reports, the rapid rail can run at a speed of 160 km, but currently it will run at a speed of 130-140 km per hour.

If the train stops at a station, you can get down using the push button facility. Similarly, this system can also be used for climbing. However, the push button works only when the train stops or is at a station.

In the first phase, the fare for one-way journey from Sahibabad to Duhai depot station will be Rs 50, while the fare for the same route in premium category coach will be Rs 100. Whereas after boarding at Sahibabad station, the fare will have to be paid Rs 20 and immediately coming out of the same station. Tickets with QR code can be purchased from the station.
