Rajya Sabha Election 2020: Voting for 2 seats of Rajya Sabha on 19 June, in Shibu Soren-Deepak Prakash, Shahzada Maidan

Ranchi, State Bureau. Rajya Sabha Election 2020 Jharkhand will go to polls for two Rajya Sabha seats on June 19. The Election Commission of India announced the election date on Monday. There will be voting in Jharkhand Assembly from 9 am to 4 pm in which the elected MLAs will exercise their franchise. Votes will also be counted on June 19. The voting was earlier scheduled to be held on 26 March, but was postponed by the Commission due to the lockdown. 



Three candidates are in the fray for the two vacant Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand. JMM supremo Shibu Soren and Congress’s Shahzada Anwar are candidates from the UPA camp, while BJP has fielded its state president Deepak Prakash. Explain that the commission had postponed the election date but retained the validity of the nomination held earlier.

Here, the Election Commission of India has asked for voting on Kovid-19 following the guidelines set by the Government of India and the physical distance rules. For this, the Commission has ordered the Chief Secretary to depute a senior officer in the Assembly. At the same time, the commission has appointed State Chief Electoral Officer Rahul Purwar as observer.

The Election Commission of India has made a big announcement on Monday. The Election Commission has announced the date of voting and results for the Rajya Sabha elections. Now the Rajya Sabha elections will be held on June 19. Elections are to be held for two seats in Jharkhand. Nominations for both seats have already taken place. Earlier, this election was to be held on 26 March but it was postponed due to the lock down. In this election, Shibu Soren from UPA and Shehzada Anwar and Deepak Prakash from NDA have been nominated in Jharkhand.
