The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has issued a list of Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatimaan (Rajdhani), Shatabdi (Duronto), Vande Bharat, Tejas (Tejas) and Gatimaan (Indian Railways) due to the stable situation of Kovid-19 in the country. For those passengers who have booked tickets in advance, some instructions have been given to the service provider. As per the order, IRCTC will inform the concerned Zonal Railways about the date from which onboard catering services with cooked meals will be resumed in a particular train for journeys falling within the advance reservation period.

Zonal Railways will then verify the services being provided and the catering charges to be levied based on the applicable rate list and at the time of booking of tickets, from the ARP date, the PRS software will enable booking/opt-out of the catering service. will feed in.

Passengers will get information through SMS/e-mail
Apart from this, the zonal officers are also required to inform the e-ticket passengers, who have already booked tickets through SMS and e-mail, regarding the resumption of the supply of cooked food.

For already booked tickets, IRCTC will provide the facility on its website to opt for catering services and pay the fee due in advance. This facility will be available for e-ticket as well as counter ticket passengers.

For those passengers who have already booked online and have not opted for it, cooked meals on demand should be provided in the train on payment basis. The onboard ticket checking staff will levy the catering charges as per the approved rate list.

Recently, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation also allowed airlines to serve food on all domestic flights.
