The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the fees for Aadhaar PVC cards purchased through the myAadhaar portal and the mAadhaar mobile app. The new rates will be effective from January 1, 2026.
What is a PVC Aadhaar card?
The Aadhaar PVC card is a robust, credit-card-like Aadhaar card with enhanced security features. The fee was previously ₹50, but has now been increased to ₹75 (including taxes).

Is the PVC Aadhaar card different from the old one?
No. The Aadhaar PVC card is simply a smaller, more durable version of the Aadhaar card. Its validity is the same as that of the e-Aadhaar and paper Aadhaar cards. Upon receiving the order, UIDAI prints the card and delivers it to the postal department within five working days. The card is sent via speed post to the address listed in Aadhaar.

Steps to Apply for a PVC Aadhaar Card Online
- Visit the official UIDAI website.
- Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and select ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’.
- Enter your Aadhaar number/enrollment ID/virtual ID and captcha code.
- Request an OTP and enter the OTP.
- View your Aadhaar information and pay for the PVC Aadhaar Card.
- Download the receipt after payment and note the Service Request Number (SRN).
- The PVC Aadhaar Card is usually delivered within 15 working days.
How to check the status of your PVC Aadhaar card online?
- If you’ve ordered a PVC Aadhaar card, you can check its status as follows:
- Go to the official UIDAI website.
- Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and select ‘Check Aadhaar PVC Card Status’.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code.
- If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, select the ‘My mobile number is not registered’ option and enter a different mobile number.
- Enter the OTP.
- The SRN number and PVC Aadhaar card status will be displayed on the screen.
- Save the acknowledgement slip for future reference.

The total fee for a PVC Aadhaar card is ₹75. This includes all taxes and delivery charges. This card is robust, tamper-proof, and valid throughout India.
