7.6 percent interest is being given on the Post Office MIS Scheme

The Post Office is offering 7.6 percent annual interest to its customers on the Monthly Income Scheme. At least Rs 1000 can be deposited in the Post Office MIS Scheme. Under this scheme, a maximum of Rs 9 lakh can be deposited in a single account. If you open a joint account, you can deposit a maximum of Rs 15 lakh in it. All the deposited money is returned on maturity

To open a SIS account in the post office, you must have a savings account in the post office itself. If you have not yet opened a savings account in the post office, then you will have to open a savings account before starting investing in the MIS scheme. This scheme of the post office matures in 5 years. If you deposit Rs 1,00,000 in the MIS scheme of the post office, then you will get a fixed interest of Rs 633 every month. Along with this, your entire Rs 1,00,000 will also be returned after maturity.
