PNB account holders rejoiced as the bank has changed its rules on ATM withdrawals. Now customers can withdraw as much money as they want from ATM.


Punjab National Bank (PNB) is going to increase debit card transactions. In this regard, the bank has informed its customers. It has been said in the message of PNB that the transaction limit of high-end cards (high value) will be increased soon. According to the statement, the daily transaction limit of Visa Gold Debit Card, Platinum Mascara Card and Rupay Card will be increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. By increasing the transaction limit, customers will be able to withdraw cash on a day-to-day basis. Currently, customers can withdraw a maximum of Rs 50,000 in a day, but very soon they will be entitled to withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh.

Apart from ATM cash withdrawal, PNB is also going to provide great convenience to its shopkeeper customers. There is a preparation to increase the limit of PNB’s Daily Point Sales i.e. POS machines. The one day limit of POS machine is Rs 1.25 lakh, which is to be increased to Rs 3 lakh. Point of sales machines are those from which we do our transaction by punching debit or credit card.

Limit of which card will increase

Punjab National Bank has said that the ATM cash withdrawal limit for RuPay Select and Visa Signature Debit cards has been increased from the existing Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh per day. For these cards, the daily limit for POS transactions will be increased from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This will be the maximum per day transaction limit for specific categories of Debit cards.

PNB has said in a statement that customers are advised to set their transaction limit through internet banking, mobile banking app, PNB ATM, IVR or by visiting the bank’s branch.

Set Limit from PNB One App

Customers who wish to set their debit card limit through the PNB One app need to download the application and login. They can then follow the steps mentioned below to set their debit card limit.

  • On the home page, customers need to select the Debit Card icon and click on ‘Update ATM Limit’.
  • After this, they have to choose the account number from the dropdown menu.
  • Under Debit Card Authentication, customers need to select their Debit Card number from the dropdown menu.
  • After this they have to fill the expiry date, year and PIN.
  • Once you click on ‘Continue’ the screen will show the current limit.
  • Then they can set new ATM withdrawal limit and click on ‘Continue’.
  • Customer has to enter OTP to confirm the request.
  • Bank will update the request immediately. The customer will not be able to set a limit in excess of the limit approved by the bank.
