PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’ to provide up to 300 units of free electricity every month to 1 crore people. of. To promote solar energy and sustainable progress, the Central Government has launched ‘PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’. The scheme aims to illuminate 1 crore homes by providing free electricity up to 300 units. Making its official announcement on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi said that there will be an investment of more than Rs 75,000 crore in this project.
Launching the scheme, PM Modi said in a series of posts on social media platform “The project, with an investment of over Rs 75,000 crore, aims to light 1 crore homes by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said that from substantial subsidies given directly into people’s bank accounts to heavily concessional bank loans, the central government will ensure that there is no cost burden on the people. “All stakeholders will be integrated into a national online portal which will further enhance convenience,” he said.
PM Modi said that to popularize the scheme at the grassroots level, urban local bodies and panchayats will be encouraged to promote rooftop solar systems (solar energy on rooftops) in their jurisdiction. “Also, this scheme will lead to more income for people, lower electricity bills and employment generation,” he said.
