PM Modi’s Gujarat Visit Live: Work is progressing rapidly on a bullet train plan to connect Ahmedabad and Mumbai, two major commercial hubs in the country. Once completed, this project will reduce the seven-hour journey to just two hours. This will boost not only trade but also tourism.

PM Modi Gujarat Visit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Gujarat on November 15, 2025. During his visit, he will review the progress of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train, one of India’s largest and most ambitious projects. He will arrive at the bullet train station under construction in Surat at around 10 a.m. There, he will review the status and pace of work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR).

This project is not just a rail line, but is considered the beginning of a new era of high-speed transport in India. The entire corridor is approximately 508 kilometers long. Of this, 352 kilometers lie in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, while 156 kilometers extend into Maharashtra. This line will connect major cities like Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane, and Mumbai. It is believed that with its launch, transportation in the entire region will become very easy and new opportunities will also be available for trade, tourism and industry.

Modern engineering techniques are being used throughout this project. Significantly, approximately 465 kilometers (about 85%) of the route is being built on bridges. This will minimize land impact and improve safety. To date, 326 kilometers of bridges have been completed, and 17 of the 25 river bridges have been completed. When this bullet train is operational, the journey from Mumbai to Ahmedabad (which currently takes 6 to 7 hours) will be reduced to just two hours. This journey will not only be fast but also comfortable. This will greatly benefit daily commuters, business travelers, and tourists alike. The project is expected to boost trade, tourism, and economic activity along the entire corridor and accelerate regional development.

47 km stretch ready

The 47-kilometer section from Surat to Bilimora is nearly ready. Civil work and track laying have been completed. Surat station has a striking design, inspired by the city’s renowned diamond industry. The station is being built with passenger convenience in mind. It will feature amenities such as a spacious waiting hall, clean restrooms, and retail shops, along with multi-modal connectivity. The station will also provide seamless multi-modal connectivity with the Surat Metro, city buses, and the Indian Railways network.
