PM KISAN: 10th installment of PM Kisan will not be available without this card, know everything

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a very popular scheme among farmers. The scheme was launched in 2019. The scheme aims to provide additional income to all the cultivators. Under this scheme, the government provides cash assistance of Rs 6,000 every financial year to the beneficiary farmers. In such a situation, the government directly transfers an amount of Rs 2,000 to the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers every four months. However, some farmer families cannot avail the scheme due to certain conditions set by the government. However, now the size of the land holdings has expired.

When the PM Kisan Yojana was started, only such farmers could have arable land up to two hectares. This means that the scheme was limited to small and marginal farmer families. However, in June 2019 the conditions associated with this scheme have been amended and the obligation related to the size of arable land has been removed. This means that even if you have more land, you will get the benefit of this scheme. However, in spite of this there are some farming families who cannot get the benefit of this scheme:

  • Institutional farmers cannot avail this scheme.
  • If a person holds or has held a constitutional post and does farming, he will not get the benefit of this scheme.
  • Serving or retired employees of state or central government or public sector company or government autonomous organizations (excluding multi-tasking or group D or fourth-class employees)
  • People receiving monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 cannot get benefit of this scheme. However, this rule also does not apply to multi tasking, group D or fourth class employees.
  • Those who have filed income tax in the previous assessment year cannot avail the scheme.
  • Architects registered with doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accounts and professional organizations are not eligible to avail benefits under the PM Kisan scheme.
