New Delhi.  You must be using the PhonePe app to recharge mobile and DTH, pay water and electricity bills, buy items from grocery stores, book gas cylinders or order online. Now there is bad news for PhonePe users. Actually, now it has become expensive to use mobile recharge through digital payment company PhonePe.

PhonePe has started charging a platform fee of Rs 1 to 2 for mobile recharge from some users. The special thing is that this extra charge is being applied on recharge through any payment mode (UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card and PhonePe Wallet).


Company is experimenting

A company spokesperson said that for those who are part of this experiment, there is a fee of Re 1 for a transaction of Rs 50 to Rs 100 and Rs 2 for a transaction of more than Rs 100. According to media reports, the spokesperson said that this is an experiment on a small base. Most of the users are probably being charged a fee of Re 1 and they are among the active users. Nothing has been decided yet.

You will be able to buy products of all insurance companies on PhonePe

Recently, PhonePe said that it has received in-principle approval from Irdai (IRDAI) to sell life insurance and general insurance products. The company had said that with this, it can now provide insurance related advice to more than 300 million of its users. Irdai has given insurance broking license to PhonePe. Now PhonePe can sell insurance products of all insurance companies in India.
