New Delhi: Petrol-Diesel Price: Now the common man is going to get relief from the ever-increasing prices of petrol and diesel. According to the news published in Business Today, the government is considering to cut the excise duty on petrol-diesel. If this happens, it will have a direct impact on the oil prices in the domestic market.

No change for the sixth day in a row

In the news published in Business Today, it was claimed by quoting sources that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and the Finance Ministry are considering reducing the excise duty. Oil companies have not changed the price of oil for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday. From March 22 to April 6, there was an increase of Rs 10 per liter in petrol and diesel. This is affecting the pockets of the common man.

Then LPG cylinder will be expensive!

There is also news that the price of LPG cylinder may increase once again. The government is trying not to increase the price of domestic gas cylinders in any way. However, commercial gas cylinders can be expensive. Currently, the price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi is Rs 949.50.

Excise duty on petrol and diesel

It was told by the Finance Ministry in the Lok Sabha in 2021 that the government earns Rs 27.90 per liter on petrol and Rs 21.80 per liter on diesel from excise duty. The Center had reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively in November 2021. Now if the government cuts again, then the rates of petrol and diesel can come down once again.

Oil became costlier by Rs 10 from March 22

After the announcement of the election results of five states, the oil companies had increased the rates of petrol and diesel on 22 March. Since then, oil has become costlier by Rs 10 per liter till now. However, since April 7, companies have not increased the price of oil in any way.
