Pensioner Alert! Submission of Digital Life Certificate is mandatory – Avoid Pension Suspension!

An important news has arrived for all senior citizens receiving pensions. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), Government of India, has announced the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign for the year 2025, running from November 1st to November 30th. During this period, all pensioners should submit their Digital Life Certificates on time to avoid any disruptions to their pensions.

A Digital Life Certificate is a biometrically based, Aadhaar-based online certificate that proves that a pensioner is alive and that their pension should continue to be paid regularly. To submit it, the pensioner needs to provide details such as their Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, and bank account details.

Failure to submit a digital life certificate could hinder pension payments, so completing it on time is crucial. Senior pensioners over the age of 80 can submit their certificates starting October 1st.

To simplify this process, the government plans to organize special camps in 2,000 districts and subdivision headquarters across the country. Additionally, elderly, sick, and disabled pensioners will be provided with this service at their homes or hospitals, avoiding inconvenience.

Pensioners can submit their digital life certificates in several ways: online through the Life Certificate Portal, through Aadhaar authentication, using the Jeevan Pramaan App, through a postman, through doorstep banking services, or by getting it signed by designated officials.

An Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID) is required to generate a Digital Life Certificate, and without it, DLC generation is not possible. Therefore, pensioners who have not yet linked their Aadhaar should log in and update it as soon as possible.

This initiative marks a major step towards replacing the traditional life certificate with a digital system, which will enhance transparency in the pension distribution system and eliminate the need for pensioners to visit government offices repeatedly. This will also reduce instances of fraud and incorrect pension disbursements.

Therefore, all pensioners should submit their digital life certificate on time from 1st to 30th November, so that there is no disruption in the pension and they continue to receive their financial assistance regularly.
