It has become expensive to do mobile recharge or bill payments through digital payment apps Paytm and PhonePe. These companies are charging you surcharge/platform fee/convenience fee for mobile recharge or bill payment.



New Delhi. If you do mobile recharge or bill payment from the digital payment app Paytm and PhonePe every day, then this news is of your use. Actually, Paytm and PhonePe are charging you huge amount in the name of surcharge/platform fee/convenience fee for mobile recharge or bill payment.

Maybe you are not even aware of this. The reason for this is that when you do mobile recharge or bill payments or recharge, due to paucity of time, it is not taken into account that companies are now levying extra charges for mobile recharge and bill payments.

Phonepe is charging platform fee from Rs 1 to Rs 2

PhonePe has started charging platform fee of Rs 1 to 2 for mobile recharge. The special thing is that this extra charge is being applied on recharge through any payment mode (UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card and PhonePe Wallet). In the screenshot given below, you can see that for a mobile recharge of Rs 100, you will have to pay Rs 101. The company is charging a platform fee of Re 1 in this payment.

Paytm is charging surcharge from 1 to 6 rupees, not applicable to all customers

Paytm has also started charging surcharge for mobile recharge or bill payments for some time. On mobile recharge, it is between 1 to 6 rupees. This surcharge is being levied on all payment modes like Paytm Wallet Balance, Paytm Postpaid, UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card. However, these surcharges are not being taken from all the users.
