Hard copy of documents will not be required for passport

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, if any person uploads his documents through DigiLocker for getting a passport, then he will not need to carry hard copies of documents during his application process. This will make the job of getting a passport easier than before. The time of the applicant will also be saved. With this new change of the government, the process of getting a passport has become easier than before.

Now have to use digi locker

Applicants can use the government platform DigiLocker to apply for passport. Applicants have to upload the required documents using this platform. He can do this work through Digi Locker. After uploading all the documents, apply online for passport on the official website www.passportindia.gov.in. This will make the application process easier and will also save the time of the applicants.

What is DigiLocker?

Actually, DigiLocker is a digital locker for customers, which is facilitated by the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. In this, people can keep their important documents safe online. You can keep your Driving License, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Marksheet etc online safe in Digi Locker. This is a kind of digital safe in which you keep soft copies of your documents.

Download DigiLocker App from Play Store?

To use DigiLocker, first you have to download DigiLocker app from Google Play Store. In this, it is necessary to have an Aadhaar card to create an account. The target of DigiLocker is to reduce the use of paper and promote e-documents. Through the Digi Locker app, you can easily access all your documents by logging into your dashboard.

How to create Digital Locker?

Step 1- First of all go to digilocker.gov.in website.

Step 2 – Click on the option of Sign up.

Step 3 – After this submit your name, date of birth, email id, mobile number and enter password.

Step 4 – After this an OTP will come on your registered mobile number.

Step 5 – Apart from OTP, you will also get the option of fingerprint. You can choose either of the two for security.

Step 6- After this, you login to your account by submitting the user name and password.
