Passport Making New Update: Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swarup says that the Ministry of External Affairs has made the process of making a passport much simpler than before. If you have all the necessary documents and have not hidden any information while applying, then your passport will be ready and will come home in 21 days.

Mistakes in passport application. If you are going to apply for a passport then keep five things in mind. Many people who apply make any one of these five mistakes, due to which your application is put on hold and they wait for their passport at home. Around 7000 passports are stuck in the regional office of Western Uttar Pradesh due to these mistakes. Passports of 13 districts including Noida and Ghaziabad are made here.

Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swarup says that the Ministry of External Affairs has made the process of making a passport much simpler than before. If you have all the necessary documents and have not hidden any information while applying, then your passport will be ready and will come home in 21 days. These five mistakes are made while applying.

1. While applying, there are two columns in the address, one for permanent address and the other for present address. Those who have their own house do not have any problem, because the same address will appear in both, but those who live on rent, they also enter their permanent address in the present address. Their argument is that since they live on rent and are away from office or work during the day, there may be problems in verification. For this reason, permanent address is added to the present address, this is where the problem starts. Passport is made on present address only. About 50 percent of the total applications held are due to address related mistakes.

2. The second big reason is that many people living on rent also fill the same permanent address. He believes that there may be problems in police verification in the village. Because of this, despite living in rent, permanent residents are also put there. This is found wrong during police investigation and the application is put on hold. Only 50 percent of address related mistakes are included in these applications.

3. Despite the passport being expired or having applied earlier, people deliberately hide this fact and apply in the fresh category. People think that if correct information is given then there may be difficulty in getting the passport, but it is just the opposite. The matter is detected during biometrics at the passport office and the file is put in pendency, after which the applicant has to go through the long process again to get the passport made. Because of this there is a delay in making the passport. There are about five percent such cases.

4. While applying for passport, there are four options – single, married, divorced and separated i.e. living separately after marriage. Every applicant has to apply by choosing his/her category option, but people living separately after divorce and marriage are applying in the single category. When the police investigation catches the matter. In this way their file is put in pending or hold.

5. Many applications are stuck due to this reason, in which the applicant has not attached the 10th class certificate and other certificates for the date of birth. While applying, please upload the PDF of all the required certificates.

Passports are made in Ghaziabad of these districts of Western UP

Agra, Aligarh, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Hathras, Mathura, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Shamli districts come under Ghaziabad Regional Passport Office, where passports are made.
