In this regard, the Municipal Corporation has issued a tender recently. Now the responsibility of operation of all 34 parking places of the Municipal Corporation will be in the hands of one company. This company will now charge hourly fee at all the parking places of the corporation.

Let us inform that in the name of implementing Smart Parking Management System, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has prepared a plan to increase the parking fee up to five times. Now if you come from Delhi to Ghaziabad or Gurugram to Ghaziabad or even from Noida to Ghaziabad, then you will have to loose more pockets to park the vehicle in the parking lot. The corporation is now going to increase the parking fee not one or two times but manifold in the name of implementing smart parking management system.

Parking fee will increase in Ghaziabad Recently,

The corporation officials have also issued tender after preparing this plan. Soon the recovery will be started by giving the contract for parking of the entire city. At present, a fee of Rs 10 is fixed for parking a two-wheeler for eight hours and Rs 20 for a four-wheeler at these places.

What were the rates before and what will have to be paid now

But, the corporation has planned to hand over the contract of all these parking to one company. Along with this, the rate of parking fee has also been increased manifold. According to the fee fixed by the Municipal Corporation in the new proposal, a four wheeler will have to pay a parking fee of Rs 40 for the first two hours. After this, the vehicle owner will have to pay an additional 20 rupees on every hour. At the same time, two wheeler drivers will be charged a parking fee of Rs 20 for the first two hours, after which Rs 10 will have to be paid for each hour. Similarly, for three wheelers, Rs 40 for two hours, Rs 80 for the first two hours for bus-trucks and Rs 40 for every hour after that has been fixed.

What argument is the Municipal Corporation giving?

An official of the corporation has claimed that this tender has been issued only after taking the approval of the mayor. With this, the corporation will earn an annual income of Rs.7.5 crore. Please note that the parking fee is in rupees and after the first two hours, the fee will increase as per the rates given every hour.

Now the parking system of the city will be in the hands of a single firm for 10 years. The firm will be allowed to increase the parking fee by 10 per cent every two years. That is, it will not be necessary to take its approval from the board. That is, after every two years, the parking fee is fixed to increase by 10 percent.
