But there are times when there is a need to change the surname in the PAN card. Mostly this happens after marriage. Because after marriage it is often seen that the surname changes.

What is the complete process
To change your surname in PAN card, first you have to visit the website onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact. There you have to fill the application form. In this form you have to fill all the necessary information.
In the second step, this form will have to be submitted online. Now you have to select the cell which is created in front of your name and mention your PAN in the form. After this, the information given in the form will have to be verified.
In the third step, you have to click on Validate after verification. After clicking on validate, you have to click on submit. To change the surname, you will have to submit this form and also have to pay for it. You can make this payment through NetBanking, Debit Card, Credit Card and Cash Card.
Hard copy will also have to be submitted
After the payment is done, you will have to download the PAN application form and fill it. Then take a print out of it and paste a passport size photograph on it. Make sure you sign on this form. Keep in mind here that along with the form, you will also have to self-attest some important documents. Apart from this, if you have applied for NSDL, then this application will also have to be sent to NSDL for post.
