Pan Card Holders : Good news! The Govt. has extended the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar, check new date

Pan Aadhaar Link: The government has extended the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar by three months. Now any PAN holder can link PAN with Aadhaar till June 30 with late fee.


The date for linking PAN with Aadhaar has been extended by the central government. Issuing a statement, the government said that the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN is being extended by three months to June 30.

Let me tell you, earlier in the circular issued by the government, it was said that March 31 is the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar. If one does not do this, his PAN will be deactivated and he will face problems in filing income tax as well as doing financial transactions.


PAN-Aadhaar link can be done with late fee

As per the current system, any person whose PAN is not linked with Aadhaar. He can easily link his PAN with Aadhaar card (Pan-Aadhaar Link) online by visiting the Income Tax website. However, for this he will have to pay a late fee of Rs 1000.

PAN will become inactive after July 1, 2023

After the new deadline, if you do not link your PAN with Aadhaar by June 30, 2023, then your PAN will become inactive from July 1, 2023. You may face difficulties in doing financial transactions. As per Section 139A of the Income Tax Act, it is mandatory for all eligible PAN holders to link their PAN with Aadhaar from July 1, 2017.

How to check whether PAN is linked with Aadhaar or not

Step 1: Go to Aadhaar Status by visiting the Income Tax e-filing website or click here – incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/aadhaarstatus
Step 2: Enter PAN and Aadhaar number
Step 3: Click on ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’
Step 4: Status of the link will appear on the next screen
