Although as per the announcement of the Chief Minister, they were to be given the benefits of the old pension scheme soon, but its cases are continuously getting stuck. The meeting of the Board Management Service Committee has not been decided yet. The draft file prepared on old pension is still stuck between the Finance and Energy Departments.
Old pension scheme will be implemented
The decision to reinstate the old pension scheme is stuck once again. The secretaries of both the departments were to take a decision on Friday and by the Service Committee but once again a consensus could not be reached. Here, the state conference was announced on October 30 and Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has been invited as the chief guest in the conference. The process is being expedited by the Service Committee before the joining of CM Sukhu. It is believed that before joining this program, the Chief Minister may reinstate the old pension scheme and issue its notification.

Five months have passed since the government’s announcement but till now the old pension for the Electricity Board employees has not been restored in the state, due to which there is a lot of anger among the employees.

For this, it is mandatory to have a service committee, but the meeting regarding the old pension scheme has still not been decided. After 15 days, the state convention is to be held on October 30. Before the Chief Minister attends this convention, the state government will have to take a decision on restoration of old pension. After the Chief Minister’s assurance, the Secretary of the Finance and Energy Department has been instructed to dispose of the file as soon as possible and call a meeting of the Service Committee. In such a situation, there is a possibility that orders can be issued for restoring the old pension scheme before October 30.
