Cut off date extended to 30th November
The cut off date has been extended by DoPPW as per the fact that extension of the last date in this regard was requested by the appointing authority. After considering the requests received from various departments, the cut-off date for taking a final decision in this regard has been extended to November 30 by DoPPW. As per the decision given by the Central Government, under the Central Civil Services Pension Rules 1972, the option to switch from the new pension scheme to the old pension scheme has been given to such employees, who were Central Government employees for advertised or notified posts before 22 December 2003. Such employees were instructed to select the option by 31st August. Orders for this were issued in March 2023. The government had issued an order on 13 July 2023. They are eligible to join the old pension scheme. In such a situation, after January 1, 2004, officers in service can be given the option of the provisions of the old pension scheme under AIS Rules 1958.
However, for this they will have to fulfill some conditions. Also, they will have to give their option by 30 November 2023. The government has made it clear that this will be the last chance to give the option. In such a situation, retired employees including officers and AIS officers working in the Central Government can also get the benefit of the old pension scheme. For this it will be mandatory for them to fulfill the terms and conditions. Orders for this can be issued on 30th November.
