Now about 5.3 lakh people will get the benefit of Delhi Government’s Old-Age Pension Scheme. To avail the benefits of this scheme, one can apply online. For this, the government has launched an online portal. 80,000 such elderly people are being included in the ambit of this scheme, who were till now outside the ambit of this scheme. So far 10,000 people have applied through the online portal. This portal will remain active for 3 weeks or maximum till the applications of 80,000 people are received. People aged 60 years and above are entitled to pension
Under this scheme, people aged 60 to 69 years will get Rs 2,000 every month. Senior citizens aged 69 years and above will get a pension of Rs 2,500 every month. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and minority community people will get an additional Rs 500 every month. This scheme of the Delhi government is very good for the financial security of the elderly. This will be of great benefit to the elderly especially from the weaker economic class.
This is how you can apply online under this scheme
You can apply to avail the benefits of this scheme on the e-district portal www.edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in. Registration will have to be done through citizen login. You can also apply for this scheme through the District Social Welfare Office of your area. Aadhaar number is necessary to fill the application. Apart from this, some other documents will also be required. Scanned copies of these documents will have to be uploaded on the portal. These include age certificate, address certificate, bank account and caste certificate.
These are the conditions to apply
Any person who has been living in Delhi for at least 5 years can apply under this scheme. Secondly, the person’s annual income should be less than Rs 1,00,000. It is necessary to have a bank account to apply. This account can be in any bank. The person should not already be receiving any pension, assistance from the central government or state government or financial assistance from any local body.
