Ola Electric is trying to claw its way back. After a brutal month where the stock dumped 26%, it’s managed to string together two days of green. As of today, December 23, 2025, the shares are hovering around ₹34.60.1 It’s a tiny bounce when you consider it’s down nearly 80% from its August peak of ₹157.2 Or nothing. Let’s be real, a 2% gain feels like a drop in the bucket after that kind of wipeout.
The thing is, the “overhang” might finally be gone. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal just finished a three-day selling spree to pay off a ₹260 crore personal loan.3 Those too. The good news? All 3.93% of pledged promoter shares have been released.4 No more “pledge risk” hanging over the stock.

The Current Reality Check
But here’s the kicker: the market isn’t exactly celebrating yet.
-
The Competition: Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand just overtook Ola for the #4 spot in November sales.5
-
Market Share: Last year, Ola was sitting pretty with 25% of the market.6 Now? They’re struggling around 7-8%.7
-
GST Twist: The GST Council recently slashed taxes on traditional petrol (ICE) scooters to 18%, but left EVs at 5%.8 That might sound good for EVs, but it actually made petrol scooters a lot cheaper relative to Ola’s lineup, eating into their price advantage.

Ola vs. The Field (November 2025 Sales)
| Brand | Units Sold | Market Status |
| TVS Motors | 30,309 | Reclaimed #1 Spot |
| Bajaj Auto | 25,526 | Strong #2 |
| Ather Energy | 20,323 | Growing #3 |
| Hero Vida | 12,199 | Overtook Ola |
| Ola Electric | 8,400 | Slipping to #5 |
It’s an ongoing battle of “trust.” Between unresolved service complaints and the stock trading near its all-time low of ₹30.76, investors are skeptical. The company is betting big on its “Ola Shakti” battery storage and new 4680 cells to save the day in 2026.9
Is the worst over? Maybe for the selling pressure, but the operational mountain is still huge.
