Which all passengers have to follow. Recently some new rules have been set by the Railways. In which now Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for train ticket booking. These rules will be applicable from October 1. Know how it will affect ticket booking from the counter in addition to online ticket booking.

Aadhaar is mandatory for online booking

Indian Railways had changed the rules for Tatkal train booking from July 1. In which only Aadhaar authenticated users were allowed to book Tatkal tickets. Now, from October 1, those booking general tickets will also require Aadhaar. For the first 15 minutes after the ticket booking starts, only Aadhaar authenticated users will be able to book tickets.

That is, Aadhaar will be mandatory for booking tickets online from 8 am to 8:15 am. That is, only those people whose Aadhaar authentication has been completed in their IRCTC accounts will be able to book tickets from 8 am to 8:15 am.

Is Aadhaar mandatory at railway counters too?

Under the new rules of the Railways, it will be mandatory for passengers to use Aadhaar card for online ticket booking. Now this question is coming to the mind of the people making the booking. Will Aadhaar be mandatory for booking from the counter? So let us tell you that at this time the Railways has not made it mandatory to show any kind of identity card, that is, you will not be required to show Aadhaar or any other type of identity card for booking from the counter. At present, you will be able to book as before.
