Along with this, the Union Minister said that in the coming days, emphasis will also be given on the use of technology for collecting toll tax. He said that till now there is no provision for punishment for not paying toll, but preparations are on to bring a bill regarding toll. Now toll tax will be deducted directly from your bank account. Central government’s tremendous plan

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has told that now you will not have to pay toll tax, the amount will be deducted directly from your account. Apart from this, the Union Minister said, ‘In 2019, we made a rule that cars will come with company-fitted number plates. That is why the vehicles that have come in the last four years have different number plates on them. “Now there is a plan to remove toll plazas and install cameras, which will read these number plates and toll will be deducted directly from the bank account,” he said.

We are also piloting this scheme. However, there is a problem that there is no provision under the law to punish the vehicle owner who leaves the toll plaza and does not pay the toll. We need to bring that provision within the ambit of law. We can bring a provision for cars which do not have these number plates, They will be asked to install the number plate within a stipulated time. We have to bring a bill for this.

He also informed that now toll plazas are being replaced by automatic number plate reader cameras, which will read vehicle number plates and automatically deduct toll from the linked bank accounts of vehicle owners. Said that a pilot of this scheme is going on and legal amendments are also being made to facilitate this change.
