Nissan is finally done playing defense. After leaning on the Magnite for years, the brand is pivoting to an aggressive “resurgence” phase. As of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, we’re exactly one month away from Nissan’s biggest product dump in half a decade.
The thing is, they aren’t just bringing one car; they’re launching a two-pronged attack on the budget MPV and midsize SUV segments. Or nothing. Let’s be real, the Magnite kept the lights on, but the Gravite and Tekton are meant to actually move the needle. Those too.

1. The Nissan Gravite (Launching Jan 2026)
This is essentially Nissan’s take on the Renault Triber, but don’t call it a clone.
-
The Look: Unlike the Triber’s curvy front, the Gravite gets a “C-shaped” interlock grille and a flat, muscular hood. There’s even “GRAVITE” lettering on the nose, which is a bold move for a budget car.
-
The Utility: It keeps the 7-seater modularity (removable third row), but adds a Teal color option and 6 standard airbags to one-up the competition.
-
The Price: Expected to start around ₹6 lakh. Bookings open in a few weeks, with deliveries hitting the road by March.

2. The Nissan Tekton (Unveiling Feb 2026)
If the Gravite is for the masses, the Tekton is for the enthusiasts. It’s being called a “Baby Patrol” because it steals the design DNA from Nissan’s legendary global off-roader.
-
The Platform: It sits on the CMF-B platform (the same one under the upcoming 2026 Renault Duster).
-
The Power: Forget the weak 1.0L engines; the Tekton is expected to pack a 1.3L turbo-petrol pushing 156hp. That puts it right in the crosshairs of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
-
The Tech: It’s an ongoing situation with the feature list, but we’re hearing whispers of a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and a massive 10.1-inch floating screen.

The Road Ahead
And here’s the kicker: this is just the start. Nissan’s Oragadam plant is being prepped for high localization to keep these prices aggressive. After these two, a three-row premium SUV (think Bigster rival) is already on the calendar for FY2027.
The “one-car brand” label is officially dead. By March 2026, Nissan showrooms will finally look crowded again.
