This news can give relief to those drivers who are troubled due to the long line of toll plaza. Many times they have to face this problem even after getting FASTag installed. Regarding this, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has now issued a guideline so that no vehicle driver has to wait for more than 10 seconds at the toll plaza even during peak hours.

Along with this, in this new guideline, it has also been ensured that there is no line of vehicles on the toll plaza for more than 100 meters so that there is no traffic and vehicles can pass easily. For this, a yellow line will be drawn at a distance of 100 meters from the toll booth in all toll lanes. NHAI said, this is to create another sense of accountability in toll plaza operators.

Know what are the new toll plaza rules-

1- There will be no waiting time of more than 10 seconds for each vehicle even in peak hours on toll plazas of National Highways.

2- The increase in traffic at the toll plaza will have to be stopped by not getting the line of vehicles more than 100 meters away.

3- If there is a line of vehicles more than 100 meters long, then the vehicle will be allowed to pass without paying toll.

4- A yellow line will be drawn at a distance of 100 meters from the toll booth in all toll lanes.

According to the ministry, since the issuance of FASTag, there has been a tremendous reduction in the waiting time at toll plazas. At the same time, after implementing 100 percent fastag, there is no waiting line at most toll plazas. NHAI said that if for some reason the waiting line of the vehicle is more than 100 meters, then the vehicle will be allowed to pass without paying toll.

NHAI said that social distancing has become the new rule during this pandemic and most of the commuters are choosing FASTag as the toll payment option. It also eliminates human contact like drivers and toll operators.
