New Visa Rules 2025: Big news for tourists! This country made a big change in visa rules, know the new rule quickly

New Visa Rules 2025: This country is changing its visa rules from May 2025. Now tourists going there will have to show that they have enough money for the trip. Also, a Digital Arrival Card is also being implemented. The duration of visa-free stay may also change. All these steps are being taken to improve the security and immigration system.

How easy is it for all of us to go to Thailand? Pick up your passport anytime and leave with a visa. But like other places, Thailand has also made major changes in its visa rules from May 2025. Yes, due to which travelers from all over the world are facing a lot of trouble, including Indian citizens. According to the information, the rules have been changed to make the immigration system more strict and better, so that the entry process can be made easier and safer. If you are planning to go to Thailand, then know about these rules once.

What changes have been made?

According to the new rules, now those who want to get a tourist visa to Thailand will have to show their financial condition is strong. Specifically, now you will have to prove that you have at least 20,000 Thai Baht (about ₹ 46,000) available. For this, you can show any one of these documents:

  • Bank statement for last 3 months
  • Valid sponsorship letter from a third person

Apart from this, these documents will also be required for visa

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Recent passport size photograph
  • Proof of residence (like electricity bill, rent agreement etc.)
  • Confirmed round-trip flight tickets
  • Accommodation information (hotel booking or details of the person with whom you will be staying)
  • This rule has been implemented in Thailand’s embassies in many countries including America, France and Norway. This makes it clear that Thailand is now conducting more stringent investigations before issuing visas.

Digital form must be filled online

Thailand has now implemented not only financial proof but also a new system = Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) from 1 May 2025. Now any non-Thai citizen arriving to Thailand by air, road or sea will be required to fill out a digital form online at least 3 days before their trip.

The first form is closed

According to reports, the earlier paper TM6 arrival card has been completely discontinued and replaced by this new digital TDAC form. In this form, passengers will have to provide their passport details, travel and stay information, and any recent illness or medical information. The purpose of TDAC is not only to support health-related initiatives, but also to increase security and make the immigration process easier and faster.

Thailand visa to be extended to 30 days

Thailand is now preparing to reduce the 60-day visa-free entry for its tourists to 30 days. Actually, some people are misusing this facility, so the government is considering changing this rule so that immigration laws can be made more strict.

Currently, citizens of 93 countries including India are allowed to stay in Thailand for 60 days without a visa. But now this policy can be changed, especially keeping in mind those cases where people stay longer than the prescribed time or are found involved in illegal activities.

Indians also have to follow the rules

Thailand is now moving towards stricter immigration rules. Tourists coming in will now have to fulfill some new conditions, such as filling out a TDAC form before arriving in Thailand and showing proof of their cash. If someone does not follow these rules, entry can be denied or other problems may arise.

Although Indians do not need a visa at the moment, this policy may change, so it is important to stay updated. To make traveling to Thailand easy and hassle-free, follow the new rules and always consult the Thai Embassy or official sources for information.
